In the Spring of 2010, while taking an Advanced Fiction class, I accidentally began to write a collection of short stories. I say accidentally because I didn't realize that I had started a collection until I had finished writing the third story.
I developed such an attachment with a secondary character from the first story, Old News, that she became the focus of the second story, The Little Mermate. Then, a secondary character from The Little Mermate became an integral part of the third story, Celebrity Java. After finishing Celebrity Java. I remain interested in telling this "ring of stories" -- Celebrity Java is in its final revision stage and the fourth story (still untitled) has not been finished.
